The Gulf Grunion (Leuresthes sardina) comes ashore to spawn in the Gulf of California. Females wriggle their back end to bury themselves up to their pectoral fins in the sand; meanwhile, several males twist their bodies around hers to deposit their milt on the eggs she is depositing.
